Climate Change is real. Despite what contrarians say, it is happening at the moments and has been there for a very long time. And, here are five facts that can provide you a better understanding of what it is and more.
The first fact states that it is Man who created climate change. Carbon is the main contributor to global warming and climate change. Power plants, airplanes, and all types of land vehicles are culprits here. And, these are inventions of men and they keep using it. Carbon is categorized as a greenhouse gas. It means that it traps heat between the ozone and the surface of the earth. This caused global warming to happen because the heat gets trapped. And, when heat is trapped, the climate changes.
The second fact is that climate change never went out. Some reports claim that the earth’s average temperatures barely moved. There is no truth in this. The truth is that when El Niño happened in ’98, temperatures rose at record levels. This is a sign that is not to be ignored by people. Compared to 1880, the earth’s average temperature today is about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit higher. Contrarians say it barely moved. But the fact is it is rising. Today, temperatures continue to rise ominously. In fact, 2015 had the highest temperature on average in history. With the way it is going, 2016 might have a chance at stealing the title of the hottest year in history away.
The third fact is that the climate is changing faster than ever. The change in climate is always happening. But, unlike in prehistoric or ancient times, the temperatures today change by simply going in one direction – up! This is the problem. The little change in temperature through the years has made a gigantic effect on earth. With all the pollutions thrown in the air every day, researchers have measured a total of 30 gigatons of yearly released carbon dioxide. That much amount is the main culprit why all thermometers are rising. What worries scientists and weather organizations is that within the last decade, they have recorded the fastest rise in temperature.
The fourth fact is that the risks are serious. Contrarians do not see the matter seriously. And some people are just too arrogant about it. They keep saying ‘it is nothing’. But the truth is that the small rise in temperature has resulted in major problems. And most of these effects are destructive to earth. Since the temperature of the earth continues to rise, it means more moisture on land evaporates into the clouds. The effect of this is widespread drought. Farmers and fishermen will have a harder time to harvest their goods. The effects do not stop there.
The fifth fact is that most scientists all over the world agree and share the same opinion about global warming and climate change. Those who contradict climate change say that there is division about this issue among scientists all over the world. The first thing that all scientists working on climate change agreed upon.
Whatever it is that contrarians say, the earth is now a dangerous place to live in. If there is nothing that man can do to curb its’ sin against the environment, a drought will become worse, storms will become stronger.
Now the question is how will man solve a problem he invented?
